Aujourd’hui une chronique sur l’un des personnages du livre que vous pourrez peut-être rencontrer dans la réalité si vous allez à Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram pour les intimes).

Qui est-il ?

Cher.e.s lecteur.trice.s, nous allons devoir être très silencieux. Les uns derrière les autres, et sur la pointe des pieds s’il-vous-plaît, nous arrivons bientôt. 

Ah le voilà ! Chuuuuuuuut, il est concentré!

Pas facile de soigner un lion. Même si le fauve est endormi, je ne risquerai pas de m’approcher.

Être humain

Voici le personnage le plus gentil de notre histoire : le Docteur.

Le Docteur est un homme, mais pas n’importe lequel. C’est le vétérinaire en chef du zoo de Trivandrum. La classe hein!

Il habite tout près du zoo et de sa terrasse, il entend les animaux lui parler la nuit.

Dialoguer entre espèces

Dans le livre, Georges lui dit « bonne nuit » tous les soirs.

Le Docteur ne parle pas la langue des animaux, au grand dam de la lionne Gracie, mais il est tout de même celui qui les comprend le mieux.

Il paraît même que le Docteur est un bon ami de Carbon Crow ! Ah… vous ne savez pas qui est CC ? Soyez patients… ou bien procurez-vous le livre !

A l’écoute

Moi aussi, je voudrais lui poser des questions au Docteur, mais j’ose pas, je me dis.. qu’il a d’autres chats à soigner… d’ailleurs, depuis le début du COVID, je peux vous dire qu’il ne dort pas beaucoup cet humain au grand cœur ; il y a tant d’animaux à aider.

Demain j’oserai, je lui poserai des questions.

Not easy to treat a lion. Even if the beast is asleep, I will not risk approaching.

Human being

Here is the nicest character in our story: the Doctor.

The Doctor is a man, but not just any man. He is the chief veterinary surgeon of Trivandrum Zoo. Class huh!

He lives just next to the zoo and from his terrace he hears the animals talking to him at night.

Dialogue between species

In the book, George says « good night » to him every night.

The Doctor doesn’t speak the language of animals, much to the chagrin of the lioness Gracie, but he is still the one who understands them best.

It seems that the Doctor is even a good friend of Carbon Crow! Ah… you don’t know who Carbon Crow is? Be patient… or get the book!

Always listening

I, too, would like to ask the doctor questions, but I dare not, I tell myself… that he has other cats to take care of… besides, since the beginning of COVID, I can tell you that he doesn’t sleep much, this human with a big heart; there are so many animals to care for.

Tomorrow I will dare, I will ask him questions.
